How Clarity works
Clarity is an app where you talk to a trained listener, a licensed counsellor or an astrologer over chat, call or video, whenever you need someone to talk to. You stay anonymous to them, and you pay per minute from an in-app wallet.
Five steps
- Download Clarity and sign up with your phone number. The number is only used for OTP login and to keep your wallet balance if you change phones. The people you talk to never see it.
- Choose who you want to talk to. Listeners are trained people who have been through tough times themselves and know how to listen. Counsellors are licensed professionals. Astrologers answer questions about career, relationships and timing. Every profile shows languages, experience and ratings.
- Pick chat, call or video. Start right away if they are online, or book a slot. You stay anonymous to the person you talk to.
- Talk for as long as you need. Sessions are billed per minute from your in-app wallet, so a 10-minute conversation costs a 10-minute conversation. You can end any time.
- Come back when you need to. Many people talk to the same listener again. Others try a few until one fits. Both are fine.
Who you can talk to
- Listeners: trained people who have been through tough times themselves. Good for loneliness, a bad day, a breakup, stress, or when you just need to say it out loud. Browse listeners.
- Counsellors: licensed professionals, verified before they join. For anxiety, low mood or patterns that keep coming back.
- Astrologers: for questions about career, relationships and timing, as a lens for reflection, never as medical, legal or financial advice.
Questions people ask before their first conversation
Is Clarity therapy?
No. Listeners offer emotional support, not therapy. Clarity also has licensed counsellors for when you need professional help, and we always encourage professional care for persistent or severe distress.
Am I anonymous on Clarity?
Yes. The person you talk to does not see your name or number. Your account is tied to your phone number only for login and your wallet.
Are listeners and counsellors verified?
Yes. Listeners are identity-verified (Aadhaar for Indian listeners) and trained before they take conversations. Counsellors are licensed and verified before joining.
How much does it cost?
Downloading the app is free. Conversations are billed per minute from your wallet; the rate is shown on each profile before you start.
What if I am in crisis?
Clarity is not an emergency service. In India, call 112 for emergencies or Tele-MANAS at 14416, the free 24x7 national mental health helpline.
